Abstract

By speed control we mean two types of activities. First, there are activities of road controllers meaning determining, tracking and changing speed limits on the roads, road equipment that is there to signal the speed limit to the drivers, but also the technical and other means of control and slowing down the trafic. The other segment of activities used to control the speed is force, that is used to ensure that the defined speed limit is respected. This paper analyses the safety, energetic and ecological aspects of reducing the speed limit in towns and villages. It is shown that with positive results to the traffic safety, reducing the speed has negative effect on the economy of driving and pollution
