Information technology is the basic connection between logistic processes and it allows continuous communication in real time, necessary for full integration of business processes within the logistics chain. A well-designed information system is a key element of logistics in the chain of managing, organizing and operating in organizations. Today it is no longer possible to run a successful operation without a working information system that significantly contributes to the competitive advantages of the organization. ERP system is particularly important because it enables business management, with the high level of productivity and users‘ services by decreasing costs and the level of supplies. The purpose of this paper is to show the basic elements of the ERP system, the ways of the implementation as well as the application of the SAP system in the business system on a daily basis.
