The Law on the Basis of Road Traffic Safety in Bosnia and Herzegovina, fundamental document that the governing principles of mutual relations and behavior of road users, traffic rules, conditions for individual factors, the conditions for education and other issues related to road safety. Application of the Law of 2006 has resulted in a variety of effects, which are manifested in the number of accidents, number of killed and injured people and the damage incurred. However, the results achieved have given rise to the adoption of new amendments to the legislation to the new measures, the most important are severe penalties for violations. Changes to regulations were adopted on 7 February 2017. In the context of the application of the current and new legislative measures, to collect information on violations. An analysis of data and identified the most severe and most common offenses. To compare new measures, a survey was conducted binding belt and using a cell phone while driving on a sample of 300 car drivers. The results indicate the consequences of the application of more severe legal penalties, which are reflected in the improvement of respect for stricter legislation and a safer driver behavior in road traffic.
