Abstract

One of the most important conditions of economic development and the overall progress of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the development of a modern transport network. Considering the highways as an important element of state development, the construction of Corridor Vc should be considered primarily as a very important social and economic project that will bring a new momentum to the economy and domestic production. Corridor Vc is included in the network of TEM transport infrastructure of Southeast Europe and goes from Budapest (Hungary), through Osijek (Croatia), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) to the port of Ploče (Croatia). Through Bosnia and Herzegovina, the route of the corridor Vc, about 330 km long, runs north-south, the middle of the earth, the most favorable natural conditions, the valleys of the Bosna and Neretva rivers. This paper presents the expected impacts of this project on the environment and social issues, as well as the measures that need to be taken in order for the project to meet legal and environmental requirements and social issues identified within the framework of environmental and social issues.
