Abstract

The traffic is very complex, dynamic and heterogeneous systems. Within that system, the movement of people, information, vehicles and other transportation equipment, and huge amounts of commodities and other assets constantly occurs. Today we are witnessing a massive expansion in this area. Bosnia and Herzegovina is not an exception when it comes to these global trends concerning the increase in motorization and mobilization. The main factors of traffic safety are human, time and vehicle . These are also the factors on which action is needed to increase traffic safety. A number of strategies that are now implemented in the European Union, effectively influence the reduction of accidents and the number of deaths as a consequence of the car accident . The UN General Assembly voted and adopted for a Decade campaign of traffic safety on 2nd of March, 2010, that has started on 2011.The main goal is to reduce the number of traffic fatalities by 50% which would save five million lives till year of 2020.Technical inspections of vehicles are aimed to insure that vehicles involved in the transport are technically correct and that is to make a positive impact on increasing traffic safety . Technical accuracy implies a good response for all systems (stability , braking, steering , ...) . For this reason, proper and objective verification of roadworthiness on modern technical inspection stations is crucial for a correct assessment of technical condition of the vehicle. Regularity of the assessment is guaranteed by proper application procedures and a good set of vehicle technology devices and equipment that is required on the part of the technical inspection station.
