Smart traffic systems play an important role in improving traffic safety and efficiency, and represent one of the key approaches to improving the safety of modern traffic. The integration of smart traffic systems connects various components, including traffic management systems, surveillance, participant information and incident management. A special focus is the application of advanced technologies such as sensors, communication networks and real-time data processing, which enables rapid identification and response in emergency situations. The integration of smart traffic solutions is an important step towards improving the safety and efficiency of modern traffic. The increase in the number of vehicles, congestion and traffic accidents creates a need for the application of modern technological solutions that enable more efficient traffic flow management and timely response to dangerous situations. The paper presents examples of the application of smart traffic systems solutions in urban areas, and their effects on reducing the number of traffic accidents, reducing travel times and increasing throughput. The paper also discusses the challenges of implementing smart traffic systems, including technical, financial and organizational aspects. The integration of smart systems can significantly contribute to improving safety, but it requires a strategic approach and long-term investments. Smart traffic systems represents an important segment of the future development of transport infrastructure.
