Abstract

The modern development of railway transport in the Republic of Serbia, marked by the introduction of high-speed trains and digital ticketing platforms, creates opportunities to improve mobility and support sustainable development. The digitalisation of sales channels represents an important factor in the competitiveness of railway transport, as it affects operational efficiency and service quality. The subject of this paper is the analysis of the impact of digital ticket sales channels on the efficiency of the tariff system in passenger rail transport, with a particular focus on the operations of “Srbijavoz”. The aim of the study is to assess how the implementation of online platforms, mobile applications, and automated systems influences ticket sales revenue, distribution costs, and service accessibility. The research is based on a comparative analysis of traditional and digital sales models and an assessment of their effects on passenger mobility. The results indicate that digital channels contribute to reducing distribution costs, increasing service accessibility, and improving the efficiency of the tariff system. At the same time, the digitalisation of ticket sales enhances the competitiveness of rail transport compared to road transport and supports the development of sustainable mobility.
