Abstract

Development of the motor industry and its needs for lubrication of the motors and power trains has led to increased number of oils with various characteristics. In the same time according to the demand of environmental protection, more attention should be dedicated to recycle used oils. For this investigation of tribological characteristics, two oils were used. These oils are generally used in the process of gear synchronization. Investigation has been conducted on block on disc tribometer. Results have shown that used system for investigation of tribological characteristics is yielding reliable data. In this paper, two different oils were tested and for each of them a friction coefficient has been determined. Load has also been varied and during time different values of wear has been recorded.
