The theory of games is a scientific discipline which is applied in various scientific areas, but mostly in the area of social studies, primarily in Economics. Theory of games has a task to find solutions in competitive situations where, partly or completely, the interests of at least two opponents are in conflict, and conflict resolution is defined by actions of all parties involved in the conflict. In this research, theoretical and methodological foundations of theory of games are analyzed. Strategic and cooperative games will be defined, as well as historical development of theory of games, balance in strategic games, and also the possibility of application of these games in Economics will be presented. The procedure of determining Nash Equilibrium in conditions of existing duopoly will be described. Theory of games found its application in different sciences, including Politics, Law, Philosophy, History, and all the way to Evolutionary theory of games and Biology. This paper will be primarily focused on application of theory of games in Economics, which is the main motivation for its development. The significance of this research is evident in demonstration of the manner of solving Economics problems, using Mathematical logic and theory of games.
